We hiked Cadair Idris via the Minffordd Path, and it did not disappoint. Started with a steep forest climb, stopped off at the stunning Llyn Cau lake, then pushed to the summit for unreal views at 893m. The circular route loops back along a dramatic ridgeline—no backtracking, just pure scenery. 👣🏔️ One of the best hikes in Snowdonia. Add it to your list. #CadairIdris #MinfforddPath #WalesHikes...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Llyn Cau and Cadair Idris for their breathtaking beauty and rewarding hiking experience. The stunning lake and panoramic summit views are major highlights. While the initial ascent can be steep, most find it manageable and well worth the effort, with many enjoying a refreshing swim in the lake.

"One of the best experiences ever. We did the walk with three children aged between 10 and 6. And a dog. Began with pretty steep stone steps but very doable with fairly frequent stops. Saw parents carrying kids on their back which was impressive. Once beyond the stone steps it becomes more of a natural path. Took about 50 minutes to get to the lake. So worth it. Children walked in swimmers and we carried clothes etc. water was cold but very refreshing. Picnic by the lake and then the return walk. It was amazing. Kids loved it."

Dwassie Dwassie

"Lovely walk with several paths to take from easy to strenuous. Paid parking, toilets and bins easy to access. I’ll be back."

Iona Mulholland

"This is the most beautiful breathtaking place i have ever visited. The car park is 3 pounds for 4 hours. The lake is around 3-4 KM from the carpark. The 1st 40 mins are the hardest as you have to climb on rock path along the stream. After that, it's just beautiful nature. Your eyes cannot process all the extraordinary beauty of this place.

Piece of advice: you might be tired halfway but Don't give up. This place is worth seeing"
