What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Maidstone Millennium River Park for its beautiful riverside setting, abundant waterbirds, and family-friendly play area. It's a peaceful spot for walks and offers a pleasant escape. However, caution is advised due to the river's depth and currents, especially after heavy rain when paths can become submerged.
"A nice walk all year round. You have to be a bit careful after heavy rainfall though, as the path tends to be partially submerged. It doesn't happen often, but it's worth checking in advance if you are planning to visit after heavy storms or serious rainfall.
There are plenty of waterbirds (ducks, swans, and others), and if you are lucky, you can see fish in the water. It's fun for adults and kids alike. There are boats passing on the river, giving you that sentimental feeling while you watch them.
There are barriers preventing falling in the water, but a large chunk of the bank is not guarded, so you need to be really careful if you are bringing children with you.
Pet owners: unless your dog has perfected a recall, keep your pet on the lead. The water is quite deep, and there are strong currents. You will not be able to rescue your dog should it jump in the water and get carried down the river.
Generally though, a very nice place. Quiet and quite clean."
