What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Maldon Wick Nature Reserve is appreciated for its lovely winter scenery and as a great spot for dog walking and picnics. However, some visitors express disappointment with the encroaching housing developments, noting a loss of tranquility and potential impact on wildlife. Despite this, many still find it a nice, quiet place for a relaxing walk.
"Lovely nature walk close by to Maldon Morrisons. Some lovely views and really quite picturesque during the winter.
If you have dogs, this area is amazing to visit.
Also worthwhile for any picnics / date ideas"
Oliver Findlay
"This walk made me feel so sad....Maldons HUGE HUGE HUGE housing development bang up to the edge of the reserve....roads very busy , deveglopment noise, paths to the estadte, and eventually hoards of people from the developments together with what appears to be a lot of street lighting will eventually drive any wildlife far away and wild flowers will be trampled without doubt. If you walk far enough along the ex train line to Fambridge, you will eventually find some peace."
Kathy Everett
"A lovely walk but a shame it is being surrounded by houses, so losing the countryside for the initial part of the walk"
