The area has an interesting history, once being lowland farmland before becoming part of Withington Sewage Works and landfill. Thankfully, it was reclaimed and is now a thriving local nature reserve, home to wildlife and a great spot for walking, birdwatching, or just unwinding."

"Really quiet and beautiful place for a walk. I went on a weekday and it was almost empty just a few dog walkers or people jogging. There is convenient car parking right in the middle which is a bonus as you won’t have to walk a lot from outside roads. The views and scenery is beautiful but I do recommend adequate clothing as there were a lot of mud poodles around."
