Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Mangerton Mill for its beautiful, peaceful location and the charm of its working water wheel and eclectic museum. The Tea Chest cafe receives high marks for its delicious homemade cakes and cream teas. While the rustic nature and narrow access roads are part of its appeal, some find the drive challenging and the museum's opening times can be inconsistent.

"Beautiful location to while away a few hours. The Watermill museum has a working water wheel ( although not currently coupled to the grindstones the water wheel turns and a lot of the internal milling equipment is still in place.) Entrance 2.50 a head when we visited. The museum also houses an eclectic mix of old domestic equipment and tools from the last century. The cafe next door is excellent and serves tea and cakes plus a more extensive breakfast and lunch menu. Behind the Mill there is a mown paddock to enable you to walk around the periphery of the Millpond and a separate footpath takes you through the trees to the sluice gates which are quite impressive with the River Mangerton cascading down the spillway."

"This is a delightful place. There is a cafe, craft shop, camping ground and pond. Beside the cafe is a working mill wheel fed by a torrent of water that sounds amazing.
The cafe is open from 10-4 every day except Mondays (open on Bank Holiday Mondays though). The food in the cafe is great. We had lunch - "vegetarian" bagels with side orders of chips. Delicious.
The pond was in use by Model Boating enthusiasts, sailing some yachts and model ships - one making a chuffing sound and producing steam from its funnel. Great to see.
The place is tucked away down a short driveway (quite a rough road surface) and the country lane is single car width in places, a couple of miles from the nearest main road, so we had to stop in wider passing places a couple of times to let cars pass."
