"Marble Hill House is looked after by English Heritage and is free entry. The house itself had a few rooms to wonder through, and the room guides seemed fairly knowledgeable. Outside there is grounds to wonder through, including gardens and an ice house. For the children there is a family guide where they can go looking for things etc, which seemed to keep our daughter entertained!"

"As the home of Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk, Marble Hill House is as beautiful as it is inspiring as it was built entirely from the designs of the Countess herself. From tragic beginnings to being in the upper ranks of society, the Countess made the house her own and there's a lot to learn here as you take in the details, the people and the events that shaped the house as it became a staple of life in leafy Richmond. The volunteers on hand are extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the house and the Countess, and it's all free to peruse at your leisure. Be sure to check out the garden surrounding the house where the Countess entertained her guests - it's beautiful just to take it all in. Definitely a place to visit if you happen to be in this neck of the woods."
