"Mrs Booth is absolutely stunning, yet a bit lonely. And since she’s alone, there’s not much to be entertained around. However, she offers quite good view from where she stays, and a pretty lovely cafe shop near by that allows you to sit, have a sip of drinks, get relaxed and enjoy the view."

"When Turner went to Margate to paint, he stayed with Mrs Booth Her first husband had drowned at sea and they began a love affair in 1833. They lived as Mr and Mrs Booth, with Mrs Booth supporting Turner financially until his death.
Mrs Booth's former lodgings is now occupied by the Turner Contemporary Gallery. This sculpture portrays Mrs Booth as a scaled-up version of the tiny shell lady ornaments that are still sold in the Margate seafront souvenir shops. Ann Carrington the artist depicts her to be looking out to the sea and sky so beloved by Turner."
