Reviews Summary
Meathop Moss is a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts, praised for its unique mossland ecosystem and rich birdlife. However, visitors should be aware of the very boggy terrain, limited parking, and lack of clear signage, which can detract from the experience for some.
"This was not signposted so only found it on Google Maps while looking for somewhere else! It has a small area to park maybe 3 cars. There are some cycle racks beside the roadside. A very muddy path leads up to the boardwalk, so not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
Very eerie going around there. Nothing to see at this time of year but a nice quiet area to break up the walk."

"Not very nice at all. It's as if no-one has been there in years. The boardwalks are very overgrown in places.
The walk is not sign posted from the road and the "parking" is nothing more than a tiny bit of tarmac the size of a small passing place.
The ground is very boggy and our dog almost got stuck in one of them.
Not worth the trip."
Scott Appleby
"Shhhhh.... keep quiet but this place is a hidden gem. 7 species of warblers, a fish eating raptor, reptiles, uncommon insects and specialised plants. Take your time one - for the naturalists."
