"Went to a steampunk event here and was impressed at accessibility for mobility scooter/wheelchair users although a bit more signage would be helpful (I totally missed the ramp from the car park). True, you may need to travel in the guard's van, but at least you can travel on the train & if you have some mobility you can go and sit in a carriage. Good toilet facilities at Swanwick and whilst they do exist at Butterley, again a lack of signage means that they are hard to find. Plenty to see and do. If you like trains it's definitely worth a visit."

"Lovely trip on a DMU, comfy carriages too. The miniature railway was also a lovely trip through the woods. There is a wonderful shed with vintage buses & coaches, and a very knowledgeable and lovely man who showed me around. There is also a new large engine shed with viewing platforms within a short walk. The cafe at the station serves drinks and snacks. Sadly no photos as my phone froze!"
