So began the construction of the this Municipal Buildings. The Victoria Tower forms part of the building, was completed in 1886 and stands 75 metres tall. The building is designed in the Italian Renaissance style, with apparent levels by sectioning horizontal lines at regular intervals up the tower and decorated with granite columns and sculptures near the top.
