"A quite interesting museum with a very fascinating history. It’s child-friendly, which makes visiting much easier, as there’s something at every step that helps kids learn in a less boring way.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. A quick tour can take around an hour, but if you want to dive into the details, you could easily spend the whole day there.

"A museum of the past 5000 years of Dartmoor. Lots of artifacts and displays, and the staff are lovely. Lacks descriptions of the exhibits and articles on display though"

"Very interesting museum combined, over 3 floors with tourist info centre. It is in the center of town with access up a cobbled entrance way. However it is still disbility accessible with a lift and toilet facilities. The staff are very friendly, passionate and helpful about the area. They will enthusiastically answer any questions you have. There is so much interesting information in the museum covering prehistory to modern day as well as the challenges to the survival of Dartmoor. They have different exhibitions from time to time, and we were privileged to talk to 2 lovely young ladies who were doing conservation and cleaning work on some of the exhibits. There is something here for all ages and you could spend hours here and not get around it all, which is why you get an extended entry pass on arrival. A must venue to visit to learn about the area and it's life."
