What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the New Abbey Corn Mill a fascinating and historically rich site, particularly appreciating the knowledgeable guides and the preserved working machinery. Some note that access to upper floors can be challenging and that the waterwheel might occasionally be under maintenance, impacting the full visual experience.
"Choice of guided or self-guided tours. By its very nature, difficult access to upper floors. Enjoyed the historical sense of atmosphere. Parking a short distance away, small areas of seating available."

"Fascinating little mill with a long and interesting history.
Guide was knowledgeable and spoke in a lively way. Glad we stopped."

"Interesting place of local history. Unfortunately when we went, the actual waterwheel part of the mill was covered by scaffolding and a white cover, so we couldn't see it. However still an interesting walk around with information about how it relates to the local community. There is an introductory video to watch at the start of the tour and there was also a children's quiz on offer. Separate to the mill, and available to see without charge is the millpond that fed the waterwheel, that is just up the hill. At the time we visited, the water level was very low due to leaks."
