The "Jews House" and "Jews Court". Lincoln England. Two of the oldest vernacular houses in the world. Built circa 1160 of Limestone Rubble and Ashlar the main arched doorway and much of the facade is original [building]

Although there’s been some unavoidable development and restoration (ugly unsympathetic windows?) over the centuries there are still many remnants of the original medieval building. In 1287 we know for sure, due to deeds, that the house was in the possession of a wealthy ‘Jewess’…
