What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Oxford Oratory for its serene atmosphere, stunning Neo-Gothic architecture, and beautiful choir music. It's a place of deep spiritual significance, offering a traditional Catholic experience that resonates with many. Some note the ongoing restoration work, which aims to preserve its historical beauty.
"This Roman Catholic chapel was originally run by the Jesuits before becoming part of the Oratory movement. The chapel is very ornate. It is being restored from same damaging painting over murals (battleship grey paint post ww2). The shine to Newman has various artefacts that probably have significance to Roman Catholics. Well worth a visit, very different to most other Anglican churches although some colleges chapels are similar."

"This is a fantastic church. Although it is not my home parish, I occasionally treat myself to a visit because it offers a Mass that is entirely to my liking - a traditional Catholic experience that harks back to my youth. A full church with a friendly congregation that is drawn from miles around speaks volumes."
