"Publishers of the majestic Oxford Unabridged Dictionary; except for one thing, it isn’t unabridged at all (although the image I’ve posted would indicate so); nor is it over troubled waters. It is however a multi-volume work first published in 1928 consisting of ten volumes (how else could they contain every book ever written). A precursor to this just may be, ‘The First Book of Etymology’, by James Lynd, published in 1860. How else could you possibly write an extensive dictionary without word origins?"
