Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and unique conservation efforts at Paradise Fields Wetlands, particularly the Ealing Beaver Project and the views towards Wembley. However, some reviews mention concerns about litter and trail maintenance, suggesting a need for improved upkeep.

"I used to come to nature conservation park in the past, and loved it. I went cycling this Sunday and I was very disappointed with its condition. There was rubbish everywhere. There were hardly any bins and just some bags overloaded with rubbish hanging from posts. If it were a hot day I would understand but by late February, that us a sign of neglect. In addition, many routes were blocked due to broken trips even the storm that caused this was 9 days ago. Very disappointing!"

The Ealing Beaver Project: Rewilding in Action

Paradise Fields Wetlands is home to the groundbreaking Ealing Beaver Project, a remarkable initiative focused on urban rewilding. Spearheaded by Sean McCormack, often referred to as 'The Beaver Guy,' this project utilizes Beaver Dam Analogues (BDAs) to restore wetland ecosystems. These structures, built by the conservation team, mimic the natural dams created by beavers, helping to slow water flow, increase water retention, and create richer habitats for diverse wildlife. The project aims to demonstrate how these natural engineers can boost biodiversity and enhance urban resilience to flooding. TikTokInstagram

Visitors can observe the BDAs and learn about their ecological impact. While actual beaver sightings are rare and depend on the animals' natural behavior, the presence of these structures is a powerful visual of nature's restorative capabilities. The project highlights a forward-thinking approach to conservation, integrating wildlife back into urban environments to create more sustainable and biodiverse landscapes. Instagram

This innovative approach not only benefits the environment but also serves as an educational tool, showcasing the vital role beavers play in ecosystem health. It's a testament to how human intervention, guided by natural principles, can effectively restore and enhance natural habitats within urban settings. TikTok
