What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Pitchcroft for its versatile event offerings, from thrilling horse races to vibrant festivals like the balloon festival. The ample, often free parking and good accessibility are frequently highlighted positives. While bar prices can be high, food options are considered fairly priced, and facilities are well-maintained.
"Brilliant day out for the balloon festival, there was plenty of parking available in the town and at the racecourse, lots to see and do with plenty of all round entertainment for all age groups, lots of areas to sit and have a picnic, there was also plenty of variation in food stalls. Drinks available including hot, cold and alcohol. Lots of portaloos which were kept meticulously clean all throughout the day and night. Unfortunately due to high winds the balloons weren't able to tether up and display or fly, but they still set up the baskets and some allowed people to actually go into the baskets and set the burners off themselves, then they set the burners off to music this was followed by a brilliant fireworks display which lit up the night sky to finish off a perfect end to a great day. We will be back next year and hopefully get to see the balloons take to the skies."

"Never been before, great layout and staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating outside. Bars more pricey but usual for a racecourse. Easy access for disabled, with a viewing ramp by the winning post."
Nicly Bosbury
"Went here for the balloon festival and was a lot of fun. Flat land with free parking with disability access parking area with disability portaloos inside. Lots of fun and fab family atmosphere.
You can take your blankets and chairs to the event but I'm not sure if the same facilities are in place for race days."
