🌞🌲 Sunday Funday Alert! 🌊🚂 Took a train from Cardiff to Barry, then embarked on a 30-35 minute woodland trek to discover the stunning Porthkerry Beach. 🌳✨ Climbed to a random spot and got an epic view of planes soaring overhead from Cardiff Airport. 🛫🏔️ Our adventure didn’t stop there – we hiked over a massive mountain and made it to Barry Island in about an hour. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Porthkerry Beach for its peaceful atmosphere, stunning views of the viaduct, and the unique thrill of watching planes from Cardiff Airport overhead. It's considered a beautiful spot for quiet walks and family outings, though the pebbly nature of the beach is noted. InstagramReddit

"Nice walk around the viaduct and the beach a bit of a rocky beach but none the less it’s peaceful and lovely views with every now and then a plane that will take off from Cardiff airport and fly right over you so close, very cool location to watch the planes. the viaduct is a spectacular view also.
there’s a children’s play park area down there too and a show and a cafe. looks dog friendly and just overall a nice place to be."

"Absolutely stunning and peaceful beach 🌊🪨 Definitely worth the visit! Also, it's a great spot for watching planes landing at Cardiff Airport!"

Klaudia Sosnowska

"What a wonderful place. Visited on a cold February afternoon and saw a total of two humans and three dogs. Just a short but lovely walk from the country park, but felt so remote and peaceful. The sound of the waves breaking on the pebble and stone beach was mesmerising. I don't know how busy it might be in summer, but it's perfect for a quiet walk and maybe a meditation in winter. Beautiful."
