It's a beloved local spot for those who appreciate its vintage character.
"Went for an overnight ghost hunt, and it didn't disappoint. It was very, very warm and creepy. The pool looked gorgeous, but we were there for a ghost hunt. So unfortunately I can't say what it is like for swimming."

"Recently started length swimming again and this lovely old pool is local to my current job. Really welcoming staff and the quaint poolside changing booths made it an already inviting atmosphere to relax and exercise. Most of the main area that I saw was very well kept and maintained, the water in the pool was pleasantly warm but not so much that it was a chore to swim in. Like most older pools it could do with some painting and grouting redone in the pool itself but it isn't off-putting like some newer venues that seem to attract scale and rust.
The parking is round the back if you haven't been before and you can walk through a fairly smelly lane to get to the front door Which itself is a nice feature."

"Reminded me of the Calder Street baths I used to go to in the eighties.
Cubicle around the pool, where you change and leave your things. There are lockers if that suits too.
This is truly a Victorian Baths, (opened 1919) with one pool, and no modern type facilities. So just be prepared, regarding your expectations.
We only went here, as our usual facilities were closed or full.
Otherwise okay Experience, but will stick to modern facilities. Next week all Covid restrictions, where you have to book first are coming to an end."

A Glimpse into Edwardian Elegance
Visitors often remark on the warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by the pleasantly heated 25-metre pool. While the main swimming area is generally well-kept, some reviews mention that certain aspects, like grouting in the pool itself, could benefit from refurbishment. However, this does not detract significantly from the overall pleasant experience for swimmers. The baths offer a distinct alternative to contemporary leisure centers, appealing to those seeking a more authentic historical immersion.
Beyond swimming, the baths have also hosted unique events, including overnight ghost hunts, which leverage the venue's inherently warm and atmospheric setting. This adds another layer to the diverse experiences available at Renfrew Victory Baths, catering to a range of interests from historical appreciation to paranormal exploration.
Swimming and Wellness at the Baths
Beyond traditional swimming, the baths have become a venue for specialized fitness classes. Yoga-Shred classes are a popular offering, blending elements of traditional yoga with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and strength conditioning. These classes are designed to be accessible to all fitness levels, encouraging participants to work at their own pace. The combination of a historic setting and a modern fitness approach makes these classes a unique way to engage with the venue.
While the swimming and fitness opportunities are a highlight, it's worth noting that some facilities may require attention. Reports indicate that larger shower facilities have been out of order for some time, and hair drying facilities have also been reduced. Despite these minor inconveniences, the staff are frequently praised for being welcoming and keeping the main areas immaculately clean, ensuring a positive overall experience for visitors.
