"Interesting castle history set in nice countryside overlooking a river. The castle is part ruin, but there's plenty to see and there are information boards explaining the construction of the castle and its historical significance. Modern steps have been installed so you can access the top of the castle, worth the walk up for the views. Free parking at the entrance where you can purchase your entry ticket. £6.50 per adult"

"Whenever my mother would return home to her native Wales and head towards the seaside town of Rhyl me and her would drive past ruins of Rhuddlan Casle. My mum would often tell me about how when she was little she would often go and play within the castle grounds. In 2024 I asked if it was possible to go and see the ruins, she agreed😆.
When we arrived I at first was unaware that you could go inside the castle grounds as I thought it would be cornered off like so many others but I was surprised that you could come up and explore it. The history of the castle was fascinating. I was surprised to learn about Madog ap Llywelyn and his uprising which I didn’t know about.
For anyone interested in the history of Wales this is an absolute great starting place."
