What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Roman Bath House and Wery Wall to be a historically significant site, offering a free glimpse into Roman Britain. While its ruinous state and occasional lack of maintenance are noted drawbacks, its unique heritage and proximity to Lancaster Castle make it a worthwhile stop for history buffs.
"We were told on our visit to the castle not to have high hopes which helped for when we actually got there. There isn't much to see but it is a cool historical piece. There was graffiti over the information board. The big benefit was no pay to see it."
Dan Pearson
"Visited it, pain to find though, not looked after as beer cans were all over the place.
Right next to it was an abandoned tent which creeped me out and the information sign had graffiti all over it so you couldn't read it.
If the council took care of it more and protected it a bit more could be better."
Mikey Cowell
"Unique opportunity to view an important piece of British Heritage here. It's very well preserved and you can clearly make out the key sections of the Roman Baths. I just think that the area needs a bit of love and care because the information board was a bit dilapidated, there was a dumped mountain bike here and the perimeter fence was damaged. We appreciated our time here, it was good to witness and I hope others continue to make the most out of it as well."
