Great for paddle boarding and open water swimming access via banks easily for all levels of person. Car parking here remains free, there is a width barrier in place for 2.3m vehicles roughly.
You can walk to the spring nearby and a small little church. Over the river a great little campsite with facilities called poppy fields.
No toilet facilities on site shut many years ago but in the village a toilet block open daily outside the foresty offices, great for cyclists to park and go off riding for the day with plenty of great routes track 23 round the corner runs all through the forest from mundford road over towards brandon, a enjoyable trail be on wheels foot or cyclist.
Plenty of open space for picnik and some
Peace amongst nature , the railway passes through the day but don’t be put off. A really great place to bring the kids dogs and adults for a relaxing day out in all weathers."

"Great place to take children for a dip in the river, kayaking or paddleboarding. Good for bringing a picnic and spending some quality outdoors time as there is also zero signal!
The river was shallow at the time but we've not had a lot of rain so I can imagine it gets quite a lot higher and the current is probably a little stronger.
I removed a star because the toilet block has been permanently closed and its a long walk/drive to the toilets in closer into Stanton if you have a child who needs the loo, it would be nice if the forestry commission could reinstate the loose even if its just for the busy periods."

"A relaxing place to stop and have a paddle. Lots of dog walkers and the occasional horse rider bringing the horse into the water to cool down. Highland cows in nearby fields"
