Visitors rave about the spectacular views of the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge, calling it one of Bristol's most beautiful spots. The open spaces on The Downs are perfect for picnics and outdoor activities. Some find the traffic noise relentless, and parking can be limited.
"Went climbing here. Climbing was very good although the traffic noise was relentless. Great views of the river, gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge."
Simon Peek
"There's not much to actually see overall but the views and different routes accessible to and from Sea walls is surprising. (A small trail where you can sometimes see goats and enter the ravine down to the Portway is good for people with access to boots. Quite steep but been done in trainers). Toilet facilities are normally closed after after dark. Ice cream van there most of the time."

It's always got a vibrant feel to it, with all the people around enjoying the view and picnics with family and friends. The view is just spectacular. Did I mention that already? There's a reason"
