Visitors rave about the Egypt Centre Swansea as a 'hidden gem' offering a free and incredibly engaging experience with ancient Egyptian artifacts. The highlight for many is the unique opportunity to handle real items, complemented by the knowledgeable and passionate volunteers. While some note the website could be updated, the overall consensus is that it's a highly worthwhile visit for history buffs and families alike.

"A wonderful museum about ancient Egypt. The museum is on 2 floors l, but they are raising money to refurbish the lower floor.
The video is display of a mummy bandage which after xrays turned out to be a snake. They have a lovely virtual display of the snake.
The pottery with the dark top is around 5000 years old as is the translucent bowl. Amazing quality.
Enjoy your visit"

"Free Egyptian experience, small place but very worth the visit, knowledge staff and things to participate in for children and adults, got to wear white gloves and hold artifacts."

"I visited the Egypt Centre with my granddaughter soon after it opened and returned last week with my great grandson, age seven. I was surprised that it had not seemed to change over the years. He had looked forward to the visit, but I do not know what he made of the collection. He had questions to answer on papers given to him on entering and the volunteers showed him a display concerning "Mumyfying" and a game. Nothing else was within his age group or was explained. No booklet was found or available on the subjects of: The Nile, Egyptians who left the objects on display, The Temples, There were booklets on Religions, Gods and some other subjects and in foreign languages. After looking at the website to plan the visit, i found it outdated and not of a standard associated with a major University. It held items written during the pandemic and not updated. Today, I found subjects which would have been helpful, but overlooked as I had not broken the code, which led to such discoveries. One day someone will return to the Egypt Centre and decide to bring it, along with the website and Utube page up to date. Until then it's a lost opportunity, but I am sure with great aims. They missed this target. Better luck elsewhere."
