These are public gardens, beautifully restored and maintained and containing several smaller gardens, including the Rose Garden and the Italian Gardens, and also the Click Cafe and the Holbeck Clock Tower.
There are lots of paths and steps from the seashore level up to the Esplanade- it’s not for anyone who is unfit.
There are some paths marked as suitable for wheelchairs but I think this very much depends on the size and type of wheelchair.
From the Italian Gardens there’s a great view down to the Star Map and from anywhere along the upper gardens you’ll get a fine view across to the Castle.
