What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Speke and Garston Coastal Reserve for its abundant birdlife and unique plane-spotting opportunities. It's a peaceful escape with scenic estuary views, easily accessible by car and bus. However, concerns are raised about ongoing development impacting the habitat and the presence of dog waste on some paths.
"Great place to walk around and see the estuary. There are plenty of birds around. I saw Canada Geese with chicks. It is easily accessible via car and bus. There is a car park, although, I have to say it requires a major rubbish pick-up session.
It is easily accessible by bus and the bus stop is quite near."
Saima Baig
"We absolutely love it here. But I feel like every time we visit there is less and less of it, with the land being taken for warehouses and distribution centres. Such a shame as there is so much wildlife here.
We need to protect what is left of it so animals and people can continue to enjoy it. You can walk for hours here and explore so many different types of habitat. Excellent for bird watching! But there are many other critters here too.
There's also now a bin in the carpark, so please clean up after your dogs ๐"
Kelly Roberts
"Great place for walking, especially with the dog not to overcrowded so quite a peaceful setting, you can walk down the runway from the old Speke Airport and see planes landing or taking off (not so peaceful lol) from John Lennon airport. You can also get to Speke Hall too."
