"Beautiful old church with information stands allowing you to learn more as you walk around. It was very quiet and peaceful when I was in and someone playing the organ. It also says in the entrance that it is completely inclusive to anyone"

"Tradition has it that St Andrew’s Church is the oldest church in Newcastle. This is not easy to prove. As with many historical buildings, documentation and records were lost over time. What can be proven though is that the church was in existence in 1218, when it was first mentioned in the Chartulary of Tynemouth monastery, and the Justices itinerant held their courts in this church in 1280.
The Norman arches are stunning, on the windowsill in the South Wall, are three very large round stones. These are cannon balls unearthed in the churchyard. It is believed that they are “little gifts” from the Scots who besieged the city in 1644.
Apparently, there are also four witches buried in the churchyard, as well as some other well known people, it has some great history if you look it up."

"There are bus stops outside of it. That's all I can say about this except it looks like a beautiful and extremely old church with a bell tower that's still in use, as well as a blue floodlit (after dark) cemetery which doesn't appear to be still in use, other than the nameless & long forgotten souls lying beneath the tombstones. I imagine it quite popular amongst teenage lads looking to scare their girlfriends on Halloween.
Google seems to think I've been there because of the bus stops, but I haven't been inside as I'm an atheist and fear catch fire should I dare step inside, however I do like a good bit of ancient historical architecture and from what I can see this is very old and was undeniably constructed prior to Newcastle city council becoming an entity, a testament due to it having not collapsed into ruin or suffered being converted into a coffee shop."
