"This is one amazing church located at the edge of the City of London and the Eastend. Is Bella ever that a church was already on the same site since1125 and it was enlarged in the 15th century. It has escaped the Great Fire of London in 1666, but in 1741 the old church was pulled down and a new one was built in 1744. The interior was remodelled between 1883 to 1893 by John Francis Bentley. During the Second World war the church was damaged and a fire broke out in 1965 destroying stained glass, memorials and damaged the woodwork. The area around St Botolph's was the Romans' Eastern Cemetery. Most of the stained glass windows are from 1969-72. The organ is one of the oldest working church organs in England and it was built in 1705 by organ builder Renatus Harris. Outside the church you will see one of the oldest blue phone boxes and a fountain which it still has the original metal cup in place."
