"I really wish there were minus ratings to choose, but unfortunately had to choose a rating of one just to get my point across. Not my own experience but wanting to share the appalling “care” my relative has been unfortunate enough to have to deal with. Having attended A&E and being advised to contact his (this) GP ASAP, my relative found nothing but obstacles in getting the care, treatment and support so desperately needed. I would like to know when receptionists became qualified enough to “triage” a medical problem as not urgent enough to qualify for a same day appointment ? My relative (he/she/him/her) had a potentially life threatening condition and was almost dismissed as being a time waster and not worthy of a call from the GP until two days after the event. Might I add that this relative has, until recently enjoyed good health and never found it necessary to go to the doctors. Even after attending the surgery in person the day after attending A&E because the situation had become worse and to reiterate the importance of the health problem he/she got a phone call from the surgery that afternoon. I wish this was the resolution to the problem but no! He/she was promised medication by the end of the day that could reduce risks of further decline in health only to discover that said prescription wasn’t dispensed by the nominated pharmacy. I only hope that this is not the “norm” for this surgery and that others do not suffer through lack of basic care. For my relatives protection I have used gender pronouns."

"As a new patient, I had to have a few basic tests including a blood test. Reception staff are friendly and efficient. The nurse who did the blood test greeted me EARLY and within two minutes, all done and dusted: no pain or bruising and a cheery disposition too! Great!"

"I see the other reviews but maybe I'm not going to the same place! St Katherine's Surgery has literally saved my father's life several times for which all my family give grateful thanks. The receptionists have been lovely as well as helpful. All the staff, including doctors, although badly overstretched, have gone beyond the call of duty to help my father. We all know the NHS is understaffed and underfunded so maybe we have to be realistic about our expectations."
