"St. Martin's is one of the oldest buildings in Exeter. The first church on this site was consecrated by Bishop Leofric in 1065 but the present building mainly dates from the 15thC. The church houses several fine monuments and memorials and a gallery adorned with the arms of the city and Bishop Trelawny."

"Beautiful little church looking out onto the cathedral opposite. You’d almost miss it tucked between the shops and cafes but it is a lovely little bit of peace inside the city. Thoroughly enjoyed reading all the information inside about this very old church. The people inside were very pleasant and it was interesting to see some of the old displays. Some magnificent sculpture but mostly just fascinating to see how this church fit into the city’s fabric since medieval times."

I have visited so many churches in Italy and Spain I felt that I should visit this gem in Exeter. It was very beautiful in parts although it did seem quite cold and absent of a feeling of being a regular place of worship. I fully intend to make a more regular visit to these tiny historic churches as we will be poorer in many ways without them."
