"Obviously the star attraction is that Robert Burns is buried in the churchyard but the church and the rest of the site deserves a visit in its own right. The church was open with friendly volunteers providing information sheets and answering questions. Free entry but donations appreciated. As a family historian, I have spent hours in graveyards, searching for relatives, and I love Scottish ones as the headstones are on a bigger scale and give such a story about their inhabitants. With this graveyard, there are Burns old/new graves (reviewed separately) plus highlighted of the graves of those who were friends of his. Also worth looking out for is the Martyrs Monument and the mass grave of those who passed in a chlorea epidemic."

"Nice walk to see the Bards resting place."
