Its quiet charm, coupled with its proximity to the River Thames and the historical significance of figures like William Hogarth, makes it a worthwhile stop for a reflective visit or a picnic.

"A few different paths to get to this place and the river is right by, which makes it a wonderful spot for a picnic, it’s also fairly quiet and overgrown makes it more authentic.

Definitely worth stopping by to see some of the darker, more mysterious grave stones that look very evil.

For all you grave yard and cemetery collectors you can’t miss this place."

"Stunning! Super quite here too! Considering it’s right by a very popular river walk almost no one seems to get off and come through here.

Some amazing graves and architecture.

Well kept and peaceful.

Worth a little walk though if you’re in the area."

Aaron Ghastkill

"The church and its graveyard are well worth a visit.

Located on Church St, in Old Chiswick, just off the Hogarth roundabout, the church is by the Tames and has a stillness and beauty, which is truly special

The church is grade 2 listed, but it is the grave yard that has some hidden treasures.

William Hogarth 1697-1764 is buried here.
Hogarth was an English painter, engraver, and social critic, famous for The Rakes Progress.

Hogarth lived in Leicester Square but had a Sumner house in Chiswick, a few minutes walk from the church.

The other notable grave is that of Frederick Hitch, born in Southgate, morth London, died 1913.

He is the only taxi driver to have been awarded the VC.

Hitch was awarded the VC for bravery at the Battle of Rorkes Drift.
Routes Drift may sound familiar, it was the actual battle on which the film Zulu starring Michael Caine was based on.

On his return to England, Hitch became a cab driver and his funeral was attended by a large number of London cab drivers.

These are just two hidden gems in the graveyard at St Nicholas,
Well worth the visit"
