Reviews Summary
Stevenage Museum is a highly underrated, free attraction that punches above its weight with engaging exhibits on local history. Visitors praise its interactive elements, especially for children, and the surprising depth of its displays. While small, it offers a rich journey through Stevenage's past, with occasional art installations and workshops adding to its appeal.
"I took my 5 year old and he loved it. Lots to look and touch, small enough that he didn't get bored. Was fantastic showing him the history of Stevenage. He loved touching the deer pelt. Really recommend. Toilets on site, and a small shop with low prices which was a welcome change.."

"Stevenage Museum is small. It could be a 20 minute walk through or a good 1 hour stop, look, listen and learn which I do recommend. That said, it packs a punch for its size and fits a lot in. There are plenty of interactive exhibits although these are aimed at children with a slightly longer attention span so would recommend 9 years plus. There are a few bits aimed at younger children but when I visited, this meant a bit of drawing and colouring in
The ideal audience is adult and able to appreciate more of the specific and as I discovered, quite unique and actually quite interesting history of Stevenage which is something I really didn't appreciate.
It's worth a visit. Don't expect a lot but enjoy the punch-packing surprise when you do."

"For a small museum it's well packed with features relating to Stevenage.
A feature of Steve Dillon's artwork ( Preacher and the Punisher, 2000AD)
we're on display, absolutely stunning. As was a display of Vincent motorcycles, featuring an HRD Rapide.
Well worth a visit."
