What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Stevens Park is a beloved local spot, particularly praised for its beautiful gardens and scenic hilltop views. It's a haven for dog walkers, offering ample space for pets to roam. While the park is generally well-maintained, some visitors note that the children's playground equipment could benefit from an update.
"Lovely park close to me to have a walk through or sit and relax for an hour if you just want some time out from the hustle and bustle of the day. There are tennis courts and the grounds are well kept (probably due to to the council having an office there) kids play area is well maintained. Plenty of parking on site covered with cctv but always keep your valuables hidden or in the boot of the car. It is popular with dog walkers, i just wish they kept them all on leads as not everyone is a fan of dogs or the mess they leave behind (hence the 4 stars) Plenty of bins provided for your rubbish. Ideal for a walk any time of the year."

"You will find more dogs here then the entire West Midlands. They will be running free for you to play with. More dogs here than trees, birds, squirrels any other wildlife, in fact more then the entire ant colonies inside the park. A great park dedicated for dogs."

"Very quiet. Not so much a park but what was left of the countryside before they built a huge housing estate. It’s all up hill or down hill. A few benches. Small play area with climbing frames. A bowling green. Tennis courts.
I was in the area but I couldn’t see myself ever travelling there on purpose."

The Canine Community of Stevens Park
While the abundance of dogs is a major draw for some, it's worth noting that not all owners may keep their dogs under control, which can be a concern for those who are wary of dogs or their mess. The park does provide plenty of bins to help keep the area clean, but responsible pet ownership is key to everyone's enjoyment.
Despite the canine focus, the park's natural beauty and amenities still appeal to a broader audience. The well-maintained grounds and the presence of the council office likely contribute to its upkeep, ensuring it remains a pleasant space for all visitors, whether they're accompanied by a furry friend or not.
Exploring the Landscape and Amenities
For those seeking activity, the park boasts tennis courts and a children's playground. While the tennis courts are generally well-regarded, the playground equipment has been noted by some visitors as being dated and in need of modernization, with specific mentions of a rusty roundabout.
The park's elevated points offer fantastic panoramic views, making it a rewarding destination for a leisurely walk or a more vigorous hike. The combination of natural beauty, recreational facilities, and scenic vistas makes Stevens Park a multifaceted destination for a variety of visitors.
