"Small, quirky, free museum based in a historic building and showcasing historical artifacts from the area. There is a small jail, lots of newspaper clippings, old electronics, geographical information and much more. Especially interesting to me were printouts of crimes and punishments from the 1600s, described in original language, including a man hanged for stealing a cow and selling it for “twenty-five merks and a cheese” and a woman ordered “to be scourged through the town, burnt on the cheek with the thief’s mark . . and banished forth this shire for ever, under the pain of death” for stealing two sheep. They take donations."
