"Fantastic find. Great walk, plenty of peace and quiet and the reservoir nearby."
Brian Barnes
"We’d found a new walk (for us) described in a little Lancashire walks book but decided on this dullish day to just explore the wood in this steep valley. The small car park was full so we parked well down the hill , past the sunnyhurst pub (I popped in to use the loo!) and took advice from a local about the best way to walk to the woodland entrance.
Up past the pub, along a road down to the right and over the road at the back of a reservoir and down into the woods on the right. Others walking were very friendly . We found so many old trees had come down over recent years. The paths were easy and and defined. After passing the bandstand then the information building (closed) we ascended the hill to the right up to an exit and back to the car. The sun had made an appearance which was nice to see."
