"Just the most beautiful place to visit, so many wonderful walks and beautiful flora and fauna to see. Stunning place to visit no matter the time of year. I'm so privileged to be able to live on it's doorstep and get to enjoy it on foot as we as on horse back."

"Lovely stretch of the Orwell river between Trimley Marshes and the Marina at Levington. Stunning scenery. Great area for a walk or birdwatching. Be sure to take binoculars
Edit April 25
A walk along the River Deben at Waldringfield is a true delight. Beautiful river and a good place to connect with nature. The gorse is in bloom at the moment adding to the charm and always some birds to see in the estuary. The shingle quayside is quaint with some benches to sit and watch the goings on on the river or just to have a rest, and there were even some brave souls bathing in the river this afternoon. There is an excellent pub for meals and refreshments although it does get busy and this area is a hive of activity. As from May you can take a boat trip down the river. We were hoping to do so today, but it was too early in the season. We will therefore be back to experience the wonderful views from this different perspective."

The ever-changing scenery, from open coast to sheltered waterways, provides a dynamic walking experience that appeals to all senses. The feeling of being immersed in nature is a recurring theme in visitor feedback.
When planning your walk, consider the specific terrain. While some sections are well-maintained, others can be muddy or uneven, especially after rain. These settlements provide essential amenities, from pubs and cafes for refreshments to places to stay. They serve as excellent starting or ending points for walks, offering a chance to refuel and reflect on the day's exploration. The blend of natural landscapes and these characterful communities is what makes the England Coast Path experience so rich and rewarding.
Photography Opportunities
The estuaries and salt marshes, particularly around Walberswick and the River Deben, offer a different kind of photographic appeal. The atmospheric mist that can settle here, combined with the unique textures of the marshland and the silhouettes of fishing huts, creates moody and evocative scenes. Wildlife photography is also rewarding, with opportunities to capture various bird species in their natural habitat.
For those interested in architectural photography, the Southwold Lighthouse is a prominent landmark. Capturing its imposing structure against the coastal backdrop, or exploring its interior during a tour, provides unique photographic subjects. The charming streets and traditional buildings in towns like Southwold also offer excellent opportunities for street and architectural photography.
