What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Brewery Romford is appreciated for its modern amenities, including a cinema and children's play area, and has seen recent improvements to its design and wayfinding. However, the introduction of parking charges has been a point of disappointment for some, and the availability of diverse dietary options, particularly halal, is noted as limited.
"The Brewery in Romford used to be one of my go-to places on a Sunday, but I’m really disappointed they’ve decided to start charging for parking, even if it’s “only” downstairs. Sundays were one of the few times it felt easy and relaxed to come in, do some shopping, grab a coffee or a meal without worrying about extra costs. Introducing charges now feels unfair to regular visitors and families who already spend money in the centre, and it definitely puts me off choosing The Brewery over other places where parking is still free. A real shame – it feels like a short-sighted decision that doesn’t value loyal customers."
Alex Dunitz
"This place is great for children’s activities, movies and shopping. However, no halal restaurants. Just the food trucks (indian and Shahs) outside is all I can eat. Nandos etc is not halal which is a total shame!"
Zarish Aslam
"It is being improved but the work barriers are causing bigger obstructions than needed. Cant wait for the level 1 car park to fully open again and outside stairs to be back in use. It is longer and busier to have to get out via Sainsbury's and the escalator and lift hasn't been working in months. Needs more payment machines that dont have direct sunlight shining on them. Lots of delivery ebikes causing a nuisance and the halal food van generator is deafening."

Navigating The Brewery Romford
Getting around The Brewery is generally straightforward due to its indoor nature. The Vue cinema is located on Level 1, and Kidspace Romford is also situated on this level, making it convenient for families. For those relying on public transport, Romford station is within walking distance, offering good connectivity. When it comes to parking, be aware that charges have been introduced, which has been a point of contention for some regular visitors.
While the center aims for a pleasant atmosphere, some visitors have mentioned nuisances like delivery e-bikes causing disruption and the generator noise from food vans. Despite these minor issues, the overall impression is of a clean and accessible shopping center, especially when it's not raining.
Dining Delights and Dietary Considerations
However, a significant point raised by visitors is the limited availability of halal-certified restaurants within the complex. While the main restaurants may not offer halal options, some visitors have found success with the food trucks located outside The Brewery, such as Desi Flamess, which serves Indian street food and has received positive ratings. This means that while there are many choices, those with strict dietary requirements may need to do a bit more research or rely on the external food vendors.
Beyond the main dining venues, The Brewery also features cafes and coffee shops, perfect for a quick break or a casual meet-up. The presence of a cake vending machine from Lola's Cupcakes adds a unique, modern touch to the food offerings. Overall, the dining scene at The Brewery is varied, but it's advisable to check specific restaurant menus or inquire about dietary options if needed.
