What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise The Prospect for its stunning panoramic views of the River Wye and the distant Black Mountains, making it a peaceful and picturesque spot. Many cherish its historical significance and the simple joy of its seasonal apple offerings. While some note the removal of old trees, the garden remains a beloved, tranquil retreat.
"Public garden gifted to the citizens of Ross in 1700, situated next to St Mary's Church. This is a lovely place to wander around, sit down on a bench, relax and take in the views. I have many fond memories of coming here since my childhood and still enjoy spending time here. The view overlooks the horse shoe bend of the River Wye and on a clear day the Black Mountains can be seen along with many other hills. There is a beacon plus a toposcope. Unfortunately a few of the old trees have been felled or cut back, which is a shame."
