What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tower Cinema Skegness is praised for its affordable ticket prices and the charm of its nostalgic setting within an arcade. Visitors appreciate catching the latest movies in a more intimate environment. However, some find the on-site food and drink expensive, and there are occasional issues with sound bleed from other screens and accessibility due to stairs.
"Lovely small cinema about 100 seats but shows latest releases. Great price when booked on line £19 for family of 4 to see Lilo and Stitch. Even pay on the day is only £23.50.
Not easy to find as the entrance is inside Tower amusement arcade."

"Great movie ticket prices. Shop on site very expensive for food and drinks. Be warned and be prepared to listen to a completely different movie from the other room as you can hear that whilst also watching your film. No respect from others in the cinema, felt like I was watching a film in a classroom full of 10 year olds shouting and kicking chairs."

"Walked past the cinema hundreds of times without knowing its there......now we know it is we will be using it again.
It has a beautiful nostalgic look to it.
Situated above the arcade via stairs, it has 2 screens showing the latest films for the kiddies.
Very reasonable priced for the whole family (2 adults & 2 children 8yrs & 2 yrs) £20...
With it being out of season I had chance to try out most of the seats in Screen 1....im 6ft 2 and most of the seats had plenty of leg room. However the cup holders either side of my legs started to hurt.
Toilets were spotless and clean, they smelled beautiful.....however I needed to change a nappy and found nowhere to do this so I had to use the sofa in the lobby.
I mentioned the stairs!!! We had a full buggy and yes I had to carry it up and down the stairs. (But I'm used to doing that at other venues, so wouldn't put me off coming here again."

The Nostalgic Charm of Tower Cinema
While the cinema itself is a throwback, it does show new release blockbusters, including major kids' films, ensuring you don't miss out on current cinematic offerings. This blend of old-school charm and modern movie selection is a key draw for those seeking a different kind of cinema outing. The reasonable ticket prices, especially when booked online, further enhance its appeal as a budget-friendly entertainment option for families and individuals alike.
However, visitors should be aware of potential drawbacks. Some reviews mention sound bleed from adjacent screens, which can detract from the immersion. Additionally, while the seating offers good legroom, the cup holders have been noted as potentially uncomfortable. For families, the lack of dedicated baby changing facilities and the stair-only access are important considerations. Despite these points, the overall sentiment leans towards a positive, unique experience that many are keen to repeat.
Navigating the Towerpoint Complex
When it comes to refreshments, the on-site shop within the arcade offers typical cinema snacks like popcorn and drinks. However, be prepared for these to be on the pricier side, a common characteristic of entertainment venues. Many visitors opt to bring their own snacks and drinks to manage costs effectively. For a wider variety of dining options, Skegness town centre is a short walk away, offering numerous cafes, restaurants, and fish and chip shops.
Accessibility is a significant consideration for this venue. The stair-only access to the cinema screens presents a challenge for those with prams, wheelchairs, or mobility issues. While some visitors are accustomed to navigating stairs, it's a factor that could deter others. Similarly, the absence of dedicated baby changing facilities means parents need to be prepared with alternative solutions.
