"Good pub food. An amazing place to hang out, have a drink, and watch a match on TV with other interested people. Fast and competent service personnel. The price-performance ratio is excellent."

"Between a rock and a hard plaice.
Why only a 3 star rating?
The welcome was OK, the food was OK, the atmosphere was OK.
Because none of it felt genuine.
The fish was flaky and fresh. The chips were soggy and tasteless. The service had a thin veneer of tolerance rather than welcome.
We were in and out in 45 minutes.
The time didn't drag."
Ranbir Heyre
"Nice traditional pub serving a good range of real ales. Staff friendly and attentive. Food way, way over priced !!! I was expecting something special for the price we paid but linguine was average at best. The mussels were better but again over-priced. The bread roll that would normally come as standard with mussels cost an extra £2.50. Suffice to say we skipped the sweet and coffee. In essence the pub is excessively exploiting the passing tourist trade."

The Legend of the Logan Rock
The sheer scale and precarious balance of the Logan Rock are awe-inspiring. While it's said to still rock, the movement is subtle and requires a specific touch. Many visitors are fascinated by the geological forces that shaped it and the human history surrounding its preservation. The surrounding area of Treryn Dinas also features remnants of an Iron Age promontory fort, adding another layer of historical intrigue to the site.
Geological Significance: The Logan Rock is a prime example of a 'loggan stone' or 'rocking stone', a natural phenomenon found in various parts of the world. These stones are typically large, naturally balanced boulders that can be moved by a small force. Their formation is often attributed to weathering processes over millennia, where softer rock erodes away, leaving a harder capstone balanced on a smaller base.
Exploring the Coastal Path and Beaches
Porthcurno Beach itself is a jewel, famous for its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters, often compared to Mediterranean destinations. Adjacent to Porthcurno is Pedn Vounder beach, known for its striking turquoise hues and secluded coves, though access can be challenging and tide-dependent. Visitors often combine a visit to Logan Rock with a hike to these beaches, making for a full day of exploration and relaxation. Remember to wear appropriate footwear as the coastal paths can be steep and uneven.
Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for local wildlife. The waters around Logan Rock and Porthcurno are known spots for seal and dolphin spotting, adding an extra layer of magic to your coastal adventure. The diverse marine life and bird populations make this area a haven for nature enthusiasts. Always maintain a respectful distance from wildlife.
