I had just stopped for a moment during my wander around Warnham this morning, when I was visited by this really friendly Robin. I rarely share my oatcakes with anyone, but on this occasion, and as he asked so nicely, I couldn't really refuse! #rspb_love_nature #sussexwildlifetrust #rspbimages #warnhamnaturereserve #warnhamlocalnaturereserve #erithacusrubecula #ukbirds #ukbirdphotography #w...

Reviews Summary

Warnham Local Nature Reserve is widely praised as a beautiful and abundant wildlife haven, exceeding expectations with its well-managed trails, hides, and facilities. Visitors appreciate the free entry and the peaceful atmosphere, though some suggest clearer mapping for navigation. It's considered a gem for nature lovers and photographers alike. Reddit+1

"What a beautiful find. Came across this nature reserve purely by accident. It was fabulous, the natural wildlife was abundant. Many professional photographers sitting in Hides waiting for that shot. The woodland walk was magical and the different varieties of mushrooms/Toadstools was amazing. I wish I was wearing better footwear, but in my offence I was not expecting to be taking a Woodland walk.
A lovely tea room at the main entrance, a huge indoor observatory overlooking the lake with areas of learning for the kids.
A fabulous day out for all."

Toni Harlee

"I was returning home from a short stay a little further south in Sussex, and I had dome time and good weather so I located dome nature reserves and Warnham had good reviews, so I called there.
My first vantage point by the lake was beside a point where some reed had been recently cut revealing some shallow water where a Grey Heron was taking slow steps, head high seeking a fish. While unfortunately, the light was not ideal for photography, I had a glimpse of it catching a small. roach.

The trails were well kept and had some descriptions. I walked to a marshy meadow upstream of the lake, and took a walk through a steep path in a butterfly clearing. Though this was during late September there were Speckled Woods and Red Admirals with many Common Darter dragonflies.

I visited the centre with environmental and monitoring facilities and bought a coffee in a small cafe being run by volunteers.

It was a good place to stop if you like nature."

Bob Seago

"Fantastic place, well beyond what I expected and what is advertised. Starting from the free parking, the excellent facilities right through to the cafe and visitor centre. Then on into the reserve which is unbelievably well managed. Species identification signs everywhere, clear paths, solid and sturdy well built bridges and hides. What you see bird wise is luck of the draw, but I don't think anyone will be disappointed. As for insects and plants, well that's another thing entirely. All I suggest is bring a camera and have fun!"
