Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Watts Gallery Artists' Village for its unique artistic offerings, particularly the breathtaking Watts Chapel and the insightful look into the artists' lives at Limnerslease. The beautiful grounds and gardens are also a significant draw. Some visitors feel the entry fee is a bit steep given the reliance on volunteers, and signage could be clearer, but the overall experience is highly recommended for its artistic and historical significance.

"This is an amazing place. It should be better known. The complex includes a substantial gallery of 19c art, the artists home and studio, a visitor centre with shops and cafe, AND a memorial church with cloister! I only heard of it cos we are members of Historic Houses.

We went on a Bank Holiday and it was still pretty quiet. The impression is of a disorganised staff relying heavily on volunteers, making the £18 entry feel pretty steep. Good cafe in visitor centre and a nice little satellite in the house."

Mike Sweeting

"The Watts Gallery is a wonderful tribute to two prolific and talented artists and showcases a large body of their work. The entrance fee allows entry both to the gallery and to the nearby home and studios of the artists so is good value. The staff were very knowledgeable and keen to share their knowledge which puts the works in a historical and cultural context. I just wish I had allowed more time for my visit as 3.5 hours wasn't enough!"

Chris Handy

"We had a lovely afternoon at The Watts Gallery today. Kids play area was a highlight, lovely tea room and picnic tables, we'll be back another time to view the actual galleries."
