"What a unique, delightful experience the railway is! Run by enthusiastic volunteers it is a fun 30 minutes thru lovely countryside x 2. Starting just outside Wells next the Sea the journey goes to Walsingham and then back again. Full of history, the time from arrival until the return journey on the train is just enough to explore this shrine town and include a visit to the Read and Digest Tearoom. (Amazing food)
The volunteers definitely deserve a mention - from the chap on guard duty as you wait the train arrival, the lovely lady in the cafe serving homemade sausage rolls and other goodies, the ticket collector who takes the money easily and promptly, the driver who gets you there & back safely and for our trip especially the wonderful, personable lady guard. We shared a carriage with her on our return journey from Walsingham back to Wells and we so enjoyed her company."
