Onde tudo começou... ou terminou. Em Pevensey, os Normandos desembarcaram em 1066, destruindo os anglo-saxões e transformando a Inglaterra no que é hoje. J.R.R. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Pevensey Castle for its rich history spanning Roman, Norman, and WW2 periods, with many appreciating the dog-friendly grounds and the chance to explore the keep and dungeon. Some note that the keep can be a bit bare without an audio guide, but overall, it's considered a well-preserved and engaging historical site.

"Went there as somewhere different for a dog walk. There were no restrictions on where we could go. Great place to see some English history, and how it has been involved during centuries of history."

"Just a short visit to Pevensey Castle, trying to fit a lot into our day.
After first visiting Battle Abbey, another English Heritage site, it was only a short drive down to Pevensey & like Battle Abbey, Pevensey is well worth a visit.
We were fortunate to have lovely weather for both our visits."

Michael Carlile

"Very nice castle. The grounds are quite large and free to visit with some information boards, so great for dogs. It is rare, at least in my experience, to see rounded Roman walls, which was then built upon after 1066. The keep you need to pay for, a touch bare but nothing an audio guide can't fix, and there are a few rooms with exhibitions for extra viewing. Don't forget the dungeon."
