What an insanely wholesome day for Team Evolve. Saturday saw the team and their loved ones gather at the Weetslade Country Park for a crazy 500 km challenge all in the name of raising money for the British Heart Foundation ❤️ 250 laps of the 2km route and over 7 hours later the team crossed the 500km target. I really can’t thank the guys who turned up and put in lap after lap for such an amazing ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Weetslade Country Park for its stunning panoramic views from the spoil heap summit and its peaceful, natural atmosphere. It's highly praised as a dog-friendly location with well-maintained, accessible paths suitable for all visitors, including those with mobility aids. Some minor challenges include finding specific trail markers and the potential for windy conditions.

"Tonight me and Star had a lovely walk at Weetslade Country Park. We had a great time exploring the country park, especially seeing the Drill heads. Lovely views throughout too. We struggled finding the trail poles but found a few along the way. Really nice to have somewhere protecting the wildlife too of a type of bird that is slowly dying out called the Skylark."

Matthew Turnbull

"A bit of a challenage going up steps, wind, sun and stunning views from the top and a relaxing walk down other side. Slight detour to the bird viewing area (rats too!) And then a slow stroll back to the start. A batista ideally positioned finishes off a lovely walk."

Marie Hartill

"Weetslade Country Park is a great spot for a walk, offering a mix of open fields, woodlands, and gentle hills with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The paths are well-maintained, making it an easy and enjoyable walk for all fitness levels. The climb to the top of the former colliery spoil heap is short but rewarding, with a panoramic view of Newcastle and beyond.

It’s a peaceful place, not as busy as some other parks, which makes it perfect for a relaxing stroll. There’s plenty of wildlife around, especially birds, and the different trails mean you can switch up your route each time you visit.

The best part? The dog absolutely loved it! Lots of open space to explore, interesting scents everywhere, and plenty of friendly dogs to meet. Definitely a great spot for a walk, whether you’re looking for a short stroll or a longer wander."
