Last week we celebrated the opening of ‘Basingstoke’s My Home: Local Stories with Global Roots’ exhibition at the Willis and Sainsbury Gallery. It’s been wonderful to be part of this project and is without a doubt one of the biggest creative highlights of my year! 🎨✏️❤️ #illustrator #hampshire #basingstoke #exhibition #museum #gallery #kidlitart #art

#GIZMOBOTS is an exciting exhibition starting on Thursday 10 August at the Willis Museum & Sainsbury Gallery, bringing together artist and engineer extraordinaire Mark Haig's robots, brought to life from discarded items. We have one place left for a teenager to assist Mark on Wednesday 26 July at 11am - building a giant robot on site at the Willis Museum. If interested please contact: willismuse...

"Great local small museum at the top of town. Permanent displays upstairs about the history of Basingstoke, and frequently changing exhibits on the ground floor, quite often aimed towards children, eg this month is a Michael Rosen exhibition, with kids "trail' to follow, and also crafting workshop. There's also a small cafe and gift shop on the ground floor.
There is no admission fee, donations welcome.
Currently closed Monday and Tuesday."

Ben Naylor (Mumdiddlyumra)

"Great place to go and look at the history of Basingstoke, the sainsbury art gallery was holding an exhibition of Ian Kirkpatrick and his 2d and 3d art pieces. Worth a look, there is also a nice cafe situated at the back of the art gallery, a nice fresh look and very welcome. The gallery and museum was free on entry but donations are welcome. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and full of knowledge."
