Reviews Summary

Visitors find Yarm Viaduct an impressive feat of engineering, especially when viewed from the riverside paths like True Lover's Walk. The chance to see trains, including occasional steam locomotives, adds to the appeal. The nearby high street offers convenient amenities, making it a pleasant stop.

"We stopped off in yarm on the way to Richmond. A very busy and hot Sunday, the highstreet was absolutely melting in the 31 degree July heat! As we had our little dog, we needed somewhere shady so walked down True Lover's Walk, a short footpath next to the roadbridge, which takes you out onto the river bank where you can walk along and under the viaduct. Very impressive with a small notice board, I think it said they used 7 million bricks in the construction! I'd reccomend this as a stop off on a longer journer, very pleasant and if you need any food there are plenty of places on the highstreet less than 5 ins walk away. Carpark at West gate also reasonable prices and a good size."

"We walked the Teesdale Way following the river on the North Aislaby side of the River Tees. Following the path that had exploded into life with river plants and foliage from the recent rain and then sunshine. When we were under the viaduct arches, it had the most amazing echo. Further along, I was amazed by the number of trees pulled from the river. And the afternoon would not be complete without an open water swimmer who calmly swam past us."

"Was great just to be out in the fresh air there's a nice little quiet footpath which runs under with seats so you can just relax and take in the peace and quiet along with the scenery. Also is only about 10 minutes from the local train station. And literally a stone throw from the high street. Some great pubs aswell so can have a pint and food πŸ˜€"
