What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Hotel Wooten is highly praised for its stunning restoration, spacious apartments, and prime downtown Abilene location, offering a unique blend of historic charm and modern convenience. Residents appreciate the responsive management and the vibrant, walkable lifestyle. Some minor drawbacks include potential noise from trains and traffic, and the logistics of using elevators for moving items.
"My wife and I lived in The Wooten for our first year here in Abilene, and we really enjoyed it. The building is kept very clean, and Melissa and Jerry do a great job of making sure all your needs are taken care of.
Our apartment was on the 16th floor so we had a great view of the city, and the surrounding area. The apartments are very spacious and our one bedroom was a little over 900 sq. feet.
Inside the apartment we had a stackable washer and dryer inside of what I considered the front closet. This did limit us to only having the closet in our bedroom to store most of our things.
Living downtown made getting food, drinks, and going out very convenient. There are a few bars and even more restaurants popping up. I feel like we moved out, as downtown was really starting to grow. Never having to worry about taking an UBER when going out was great because we could literally walk to most places.
A few things that aren't a reflection of The Wooten itself but worth mentioning are:
1. The train is 4 blocks away and is very loud at times.
2. Cars trucks motorcycles and emergency vehicles can also be very loud at times.
3. Bringing in groceries and furniture can be a hassle due to having to use the elevators.
Overall it was a great experience and our neighbors were great.
I recommend living here!"

"I actually don’t live at the Wooten but pay the rent! My daughter in at TTUHSC and lives there. She moved in April 2022. Without a doubt I am very happy with our choice. Safety was my biggest concern when choosing an apartment. The building is safe and secure as well as the parking. She absolutely loves her apartment. The rent was reasonable and the bills (water, trash and electric) are way less then expected and can assure you the electric is much less then any other apartment we would have chose. Melissa is awesome and keeps the building well maintained. If you on considering the Wooten don’t hesitate any longer you will love it. That is if there is an available unit is available."
