"The first time I passed this place up because it felt kind of sketchy, but I tried again a few days later and was pleasantly surprised. Make your way down the driveway by the NPS sign to the building behind the house. The little museum is at the end of the driveway.
Tom is a gem! I was the only visitor on a Sunday. Tom was very pleasant and knows his Revolutionary War history. He gave me a detailed history of how Abingdon Muster Grounds evolved into the Battle of Kings Mountain and then on into the surrender of Cornwallis to Washington at Yorktown.
It was history I did not know and the reason why even these little parks have a significance to the history of our country.
Stellar! Thanks, Tom, for the lesson and the stories!"

"Neat place to visit. It was closed so not sure when its actually open. Trail was too wet to check out so you may want to visit during dry times."
